I posted this on my FB page last night and read it in The Logos today. In Numbers The Israelites are preparing to cross the Jordan and possess their lands. Yahweh brought them out of slavery in Egypt and promised them a land flowing with milk and honey and giants that had to be removed. They were set ... if they would trust Him. In Numbers 33:55-56 (NASB) Yahweh tells Moshe,
"But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall come about that those whom you let remain of them will become as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will trouble you in the land which you live. And as I plan to do to them, so I will do to you."
For years they begged The Lord to deliver and bless them, and He said, 'Yes, go and do all I tell you.' In the verses above He even warns them of the consequences of not doing what He told them to do. I realize this is Old Covenant and we don't get cut off from Him or die immediately as could happen to The Israelites who disobeyed. In The New Covenant, because of Yeshua's Sinless, Matchless Blood Sacrifice, we have Grace and disobedience is actually dishonor. We can still be saved, dishonor some of God's Commands and go to Heaven because we believe in Jesus. Pretty spectacular trump card, right? BUT, being saved just to get out of Hell, is not really living and it severely limits the Abundance and Blessing of Heaven in our lives.
We cannot pray daily for The Anointing and Blessing on our businesses, careers and personal lives, but then ignore Divine Instructions. Why not? Because it's hateful. Jesus said in John 14:15 if we love Him we'll keep (guard, honor, perform) His Commandments. If we don't love Him, we're not eligible for The Secrets of The Kingdom or higher-level blessing (Revelation 3:20). Why not? Because we don't believe Him. Hebrews 11:6 tells us without Faith it's IMPOSSIBLE to please Him. When we don't believe someone, we don't do what they tell us to do and the relationship is dysfunctional. Also, we reap what we sow. If we sow dishonor toward God, we're going to reap a big can of dishonor in our lives because the enemy will get all up in it.
It just doesn't work. Anything that's contrary to God's Will, Way or Word is agreement with the demonic and they steal, kill and destroy. In the natural when people ask our advice but don't follow it, we respond, "Why did you ask me if you weren't gonna do what I told you?" Same with God. Well, I mean, He knows what's in our hearts and why we don't believe Him and act in Faith. It does grieve His Heart to be dishonored. And the worser part is: He'll only allow it for so long and then you get turned over to the tormentors (Matthew 18:34). And that, my friends ... is New Covenant. It's simple: If you ask The Lord to bless an area of your life or what to do in a situation, do what He says.Seriously, if you're not gonna follow through it's probably better if you don't ask because once you hear The Word, you become responsible.
I bless you in Jesus' Name.
